Co-founder and Managing Director
Chris Mangum brings to VXG over a decade of experience in entrepreneurial
startups, high-tech business development, venture investing, and
strategic alliances. At VXG, he has served in numerous interim
management positions, with roles ranging from COO to VP of Business
Development. Mangum previously worked for BellSouth Cellular Corp.
(now Cingular), where he assembled strategic alliances with outside
companies to develop new products and services. In this role, Mangum
identified, structured and negotiated alliances with companies
ranging from Compaq to General Magic, as well as BellSouth Cellular's
first venture capital investment in a high-tech startup. He has
served as Marketing Chair of the Software Defined Radio Forum,
an international organization promoting new wireless technology.
In this position, Mangum was instrumental in raising the organization's
profile through a public relations campaign and public speaking
engagements in the U.S. and Europe. Mangum also served as executive
assistant and speechwriter for the President of BellSouth Enterprises,
the holding company for all of BellSouth's unregulated assets including
BellSouth Cellular, BellSouth International and BellSouth's Yellow
Pages business.
Prior to graduate school, Mangum was an officer
in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Captain. He sits on advisory
boards of several client companies, on several non-profit boards,
and is a member of the Policy Circle of the Rand Corporation.
He earned his law degree and MBA from Emory University, and a BA
in Psychology from Rhodes College. |
